Our approach
Our approach is to help you define what you want to achieve in life, and then through analysis of your current situation, determine your starting point.
We are a fee for a service company and the fees are based on what strategies we need to develop and implement to bring your plan to life so that it meets your life goals. You will know clearly what the fees are once we have found out a little about you and your life goals.
We have a few steps as part of our approach to help us provide you with the best advice which is tailored to your needs, goals, and dreams.
Before Our Meeting
To provide appropriate advice in your best interest, we need to thoroughly understand your financial position. Prior to our meeting, it helps if you can provide the necessary information so that we can make the best use of our time together.
The Fact Find
The Fact Find and needs analysis is an in-depth information gathering process covering all aspects of your financial position. It will look at your needs and goals and your investor profile, among other things. It is the first step in getting to understand your financial position. We normally like you to have completed this before coming to our meeting as this also helps us prepare for our first meeting and use our time together most effectively.
Client Engagement
After our first meeting we will prepare a Client Engagement Letter using the information from the Fact Find, and our first meeting, to identify key areas requiring attention. The Client Engagement letter will be emailed to you to sign, and it will clearly set out our fees and charges to prepare your comprehensive advice document.
This letter will also outline your relevant needs and addresses all the key areas discussed in the meeting, and during the fact find process to ensure we have a clear understanding of your situation. Normally we expect our Engagement fee to be paid upfront for the work we are about to do for you, just like a lawyer does.
Strategy and Plan Preparation
Using the information from the Fact Find and our experience as financial advisers, we analyse your situation and identify key areas requiring attention. These are then detailed in our written recommendations which we will present to you. This document is called a Statement of Advice. This is your financial plan. We will sit down together and go through this Statement of Advice – this is the start of your financial planning journey to plan for your financial goals (not everyone has retirement as their goal). Putting this plan together takes us approx. 3-4 weeks.
Plan Implementation
Once you have decided to implement your plan, together we decide on the appropriate approach. You are always in control and this means that until you sign off to give us permission to implement your plan, it will remain just a plan.
Once you give us the green light, this is where we start putting it all into place for you, and you are on your way to achieving your goals.
Review Sessions
It is important to keep your financial affairs up to date. The review sessions, either annually or half yearly, will consider your changed circumstances, as well as any changes to legislation and the market. We will tailor your plan to fit with your requirements.
Ongoing Support
We will set up an ongoing Client Directed Experience that meets your needs. We are committed to building a long-term relationship with you and we will review your financial plan on a regular basis to ensure that it continues to meet your individual needs and aspirations, now and in the future.
